Youth Development League U13/U15 – Perivale – Sat 04 May 2013

Sunny weather with a breeze heading up the finishing straight, gave ideal conditions for the first Lower Age Group meeting of the new Youth Development League. Under 13s and Under 15s from six clubs competing in this second division match.

The meet started with a victory for Ealing in the U15 Boys Hammer with Max Morawski throwing 25m to win. Karolis Narvilas was runner up in the B string.

For the Ealing girls, Under 15 Sophie Blair almost matched Max with a 24.73m Hammer throw for a win. Yasmine Ferguson won the B string hammer.

Ealing female shot putters were also joint victors. Yasmine Ferguson winning with 9.39m followed by B string winner Chanelle Pierre with 9.35m.

On the track, Maateo Vao won the U13 Boys 800m in 2.26 and Lottie Horton won the 75m Sprint in 10.6. Feia Starkey won the U13 Girls 1200m in 4.08 with Lucy O’Brien the first B String runner in at 4.32.

The Ealing team finished fifth out of six clubs, behind our near rivals Hillingdon and Thames Valley. Ealing won promotion to this division last year but need to field more competitors to make further progress.
