Congratulations to James Hughes who won the Southampton 10k on Sunday, held in conjunction with the inaugural Southampton Marathon and Half Marathon.
James said “the race felt great on a beautifully sunny day. I was in a pack of three for most of the race and managed a sprint to the line to clinch the win. Tough field, painful but worth it”.
James won in a time of 36:45 – well over a minute outside his personal best but to our knowledge his first win at that distance.
ESM members Tony Hursey and Louise Prince completed the half marathon, Tony in a time of 1:48 and Louise in a time of 1:58. The photo shows Louise (left) with Northala Fields parkrun buddy Lindsay Donoghue.
