The day after the first Met League fixture, three of ESM’s veteran women competed in a 10-mile off-road race organised by Ware Joggers. W55 Fiona Kennedy made a cautious start, lying third in the early stages. She moved into second at three miles and caught the leader at seven, upping the pace thereafter to win the race outright. W45 Claudia Manera was placed fourth throughout the race, bettering her previous 10 mile time by two minutes, while W50 Patricia Thomas overcame her ongoing injury for the second time this weekend. The trio were delighted to be awarded the team trophy.
