Congratulations to Sarah Richardson, who won W45-49 Gold at the Aquathlon World Champs in Pontevedra (Spain) earlier this month. Christine Meek won Bronze in the W60-64 category, and Keith Freegard also competed.
The event consisted of a 1km river swim and 5km run. Sarah says: “The swim was pretty tough, going against the flow to start and then into the sun back down the river in quite windy conditions. I came out of the water in 11th position and gradually moved up the field in the 5km run to win. I didn’t know until I went over the line and they said ‘we have a gold medalist, Sarah Richardson’ that I had won”.
