After getting away to a fast start, Mo Hashi led the way for ESM for most of the race but it was another under-20, Mark Cameron, who overtook him on the run in to finish one place in front in 20th. With Mark Delahunty in 32nd, Tom Yates 41st, first veteran Bill Gristwood 53rd and Eamon Bradley 62nd completing the Fraternity Cup scoring, the team finished 5th.

Running with the men over the same 5 mile course, the Ealing women were one short of a full Sorority Cup team. Sarah Richardson was the first one home, finishing 11th woman ahead of our three non-scoring men, Steve Plested (68th), Ian Leslie (71st) and Rob Howells (79th). Carol Jones finished 24th and Julia Gristwood, who has run this race on many occasions, was 33rd.
With the runners lined up for the start, Brian Fowler, on behalf of the home club Barnet & District AC, kindly dedicated the running of the race to the memory of Mike Barratt.
