There were some great runs by our young athletes at this morning’s London Mini Marathon Trial, which was held at Northala Fields parkrun. Of the 18 who lined up, six ran all-time parkrun PBs: congratulations to Jonah Mezey, Finlay Vadon, Alistair Larkam, Thomas Bass, Lucy Henson and Mia de Vivenot.
Others came very close, so well done to Alec Edgar (just three seconds short of a PB), Amira Nuseibeh (four seconds), Arun Manget (10 seconds) and Marcus West (14 seconds).
For Vitaly Bender, Hussein Zaaiter, Edward Cooper, Lauren Beale, Josie Booker and Catherine Gallagher, it was their first taste of parkrun, so let’s hope they enjoyed it. (Having said that, I’m sure I’ve seen Hussein run at Northala Fields before – maybe it’s just the first time he’s remembered his barcode!)
Very best of luck to everyone who’s hoping to be selected. If you couldn’t make it this week, there’s another chance on February 2nd, also at Northala Fields.
PS: Couldn’t help noticing some of you don’t have your club name on your parkrun profile! It’s easy to add: go to your results email and click on the little orange icon that says “manage my profile”…
