A few of our middle distance athletes clocked pleasing times at the Watford Open Graded Meeting last Wednesday evening. Nick Landeau dipped under 1:50 again with his 1:49.79. George Kerry got agonisingly close to a sub-two-minute clocking with a personal best performance of 2:00.69. Relative novice Seweryn Czapka – still only 14 years old – slashed nine seconds from his first outing at this distance, with 2:08.54. M55 veteran Phil York is unlikely to challenge his 2:09 PB again, but is bringing his times down as the season progresses, recording his best yet of 2:30.20.
