Youth Development League U17/U20 – Perivale – Sun 02 Jun 2013

This match was at the Perivale, and was the second match of the YDL U17/U20 season.

We had a close finish in the U17 Womens 4 x 100m relay. Ealing never quite looked like winning despite strong legs by Adwoa Amankona, Angelique Averey, and Sylvie Rowe. However when Eldika Edwards received the baton with the home straight ahead of her she shot off with such speed that she managed to edge ahead of the Chiltern Harriers only with a final lunge at the line. The winning margin was again 1/5th of a second.

The team was full of top class performances and we turned out more competitors than any of our rivals.

Star performance was from Rafal Morawski whose Hammer throw of 60.15 won the event. Raf is now ranked 7th for U20’s in the UK in his first year in this age group. Raf also won the Discus with a Personal Best and the Shot. Tara Morawska won the U17w Hammer.

Under 17 winners included Alex McClusky in the 400m, Mukhtar Farah in the 1500 and Pierre Goualin jumping over 6 metres in the Long Jump for the first time and winning the Triple jump.

For the girls, Djeeneigh Kczorowski won the U17 300 race and Eldika Edwards warmed up for her relay win with a 1.55 win in the High Jump.

Lara Kotecha won the U20w Triple jump.
