NWLL – Trent Park – Sat 26 Nov 2016

Well done to all 20 young athletes from ESM who ran at Trent Park on Saturday. We had great weather and, according to Tim Hannah, the best ground conditions in living memory. Roisin Lynch shares her observations on the races:

U11s: Ealing’s sole representative Nicole continued her excellent form with another impressive performance, claiming second. In the boys’ race similarly, we only had George running, who also had a good run coming in third place.

U15 boys/U17 women: On a long and undulating course, the ESM athletes used teamwork to produce promising results. The boys stayed as a pack, with Kane out ahead, followed by Mikey, Matteo and Chauncey. The women also had a full team, with another strong performance from Jessica – finishing second. Laura was involved in a closely contested finishing sprint from which she gained fourth position. Roisin improved from the last race to help the team of three finish top of the ranking.

U17 men: The men all did well to complete the longer than advertised course of approximately 6.25km and fielded a full team. John had a strong finish to come fourth, followed by Luke in 11th and then Alex who turned out a strong performance for the team despite limited training.

U13 boys: The under 13 boys’ squad showed good depth as they turned out a full team with runners to spare. Mahiis, Najiib and Finn led them home, while Mohamed, Marcus and Marco were supported by newcomers Max and Theo.
