Another win for Mohamed Ali at British Athletics Cross Challenge – Sat 25 Nov 2017

Having won the Under 15 Boys’ race at the first British Cross Challenge in Milton Keynes earlier this month, Mohamed Ali underscored his dominance with another win at Sefton Park in Liverpool.

Easing around the undulating 3km course, he held on for an impressive win, according to the British Athletics report, taking his foot off the pedal in the home straight as the course started to cut up after the first few races. Liam Rawlings and Ethan Hussey chased hard, but could not reel him in.

Four other ESM athletes competed. Mo Hashi finished 139th in the senior men’s field of over 500. Mukhtar Farah finished 64th and George Kerry 93rd  in the U20 men’s field of 124. Nicola Ravenhill started well in the U20 women’s race and she was in the top 40 in the early stages but the cold conditions took their toll and she dropped out with muscle cramp.

Clockwise from top: Mo Hashi, Mukhtar Farah, Mohamed Ali, Nicola Ravenhill & George Kerry
