We had a good turnout for the 1st fixture of the McCains Young Athletes League and scored the highest total by some considerable margin. Amy Wright managed 3 wins, with Tabita Botuli, Lorenzo Vilona and Selom Martty taking 2 wins and 15 other individual wins. Also a good showing on the relay front with 5 wins.
Under 13 Girls: Amy Wright led the team with 1st in 75m, 150m and Long Jump. Roisin Lynch 1st in 1200m and 2nd in High jump. Connie Lynch came 1st in 75m hurdles. Also competing were Brianna Hall 3rd in Shot put, Cameron Thomas 4th in 800m, Lottie Horton and Chenise Whiting. The relay team came 2nd in the 4 x 100m.
Under 13 Boys: Several individual wins, with newcomer John Field 1st in 800m, George Kerry 1st in 1500m, Ben Shindler-Glass 1st in High jump and Luke Miller 1st in Shot putt. Also competing were Freddie Scarborough 2nd in 200m and 4th in 100m, Max Morawski 3rd in 75m hurdle and Long jump, Maateo Vao, David Morgan and Timothy Wallace. The relay team came 2nd in the 4 x 100m.
Under 15 Girls: Tara Morawski came 1st in Discus and 3rd in Shot putt. Also competing were Besirat Tesfu 2nd in Long jump and Javelin, Lauren Murphy 3rd in 100m, Millie Atherton 3rd in 200m, Courtney Marshall 3rd in 800m, Anna Maude 3rd in 1500m,
Emma Starkey 4th in High Jump, Frankie Vale 5th in 75m hurdle, Abigail Brown and Erica Wallace. The relay team came 2nd in the 4 x 100m.
Under 15 Boys: A good haul of wins, with Alex McCluskley 1st in 300m and 2nd in 200m, Will Lord 1st in 80m hurdles and 2nd in High jump and Mukhtar Farah 1st in 800m. Also competing were Gabriel Loftus 2nd in 100m, Karolis Narvilas 4th in Long jump and Shot put, Trey Emile, Tom Newton, Jack Wells and Aaron Spink. The relay team came 1st in the 4 x 100m and also the 4 x 300m.
Under 17 Girls: The girls managed 4 wins, with Tabita Botuli 1st in 100m and 200m, Imogen Jennings 1st in Hammer and 2nd in Shot put and Discus and Olivia Will 1st in 1500m. Also competing were Laura Jewitt 2nd Long jump and 3rd Triple jump, Laura West 3rd in High jump, Evie King 3rd 300m, Josie Elliott 3rd 800m, Eldika Edwards, Freya Johnson and Rachel Scott. The relay team came 1st in the 4 x 100m.
Under 17 Boys: Shared honours with Lorenzo Vilano 1st in 200m and Long jump, Selom Mortty 1st in Shot putt and Javelin, Conor Corrigan 1st in 100m, Malik Ouzia 1st in 800m and Sam Shindler-Glass 1st in 1500m. Also competing were Josue Ngandu 2nd in 400m and Triple jump and Gurkind Khosa. The relay team came 1st in the 4 x 100m and also the 4 x 400m.
