Sunday 11th June saw a small but determined band of runners and a couple of supporters (thanks Catherine and Philip) trek out to Wargrave for the first of the club championship road 10Ks, this race replacing the cancelled Ealing Eagles/Gunnersbury Park 10K.
It’s a race some in the club have done before, but none of the runners who turned up today had done it previously, and so the ‘undulating’ course came as a bit of a surprise, with the aptly-named Crazies Hill being a particular highlight. Fortunately, we only had to run down that one…
A beautiful day, and a pleasant enough course, well-marshalled with lots of children ready to fire cooling jets from water pistols, conditions weren’t exactly suitable for PB attempts, but a fairly decent performance was put in by all.
