Thanks to those Ealing athletes that turned up to support the Thames Valley Harriers Open meeting on Wednesday evening at The Linford Christie stadium, writes Steve Treanor.
This event was organised by the WLAN (West London Area Network) with the British Milers Club (BMC) running the 800m races.
Runners from Ealing in the BMC 800m included Malik Ouzia, Luke Nicholas, Mark Cameron, Sam McGonigle, Mel Newbery (2nd placed woman) and Courtney Marshall.
In the 100m, Dante Blackwood and Laura Davies were competing. In the 200m, we had Pierre Goualin, Gabriel Loftus and Dante Blackwood running, with both Pierre and Gabriel getting PBs. In the 800m, Alex Leslie (u23m) came 2nd overall with a SB and Akira Anzai-Jackson 5th overall (an unofficial SB). In the 3000m mens race, Tom Yates also competed.
In the field events, we had just 2 competitors, Chanelle Pierre and Sophie Blair (both u15w).
In the Shot putt, Chanelle came 1st and Sophie 3rd (PB) and the discus, Chanelle came 1st and Sophie 2nd (another PB).
