We secured eleven medals at the Middlesex Indoor Athletics Championships at Lee Valley last weekend.
For the senior men, Seb Zajaczkowski clocked up a personal best in the 800m to claim a silver medal, ducking under two minutes for the first time. Behind him, Mo Hashi ran almost exactly the same time that won him silver last year, but had to settle for bronze this time. The following day, Seb grabbed another silver with a big PB of 4:07.61 in the 1500m. Szymon Swigon won silver in the 60m sprint hurdles, also with a PB.
In the U17 men’s category, Reef Hook claimed a bronze medal in the 200m, in a PB of 25.04. Reade Owen produced an indoor best long jump of 5.66, just 2cm short of his outdoor best. Phoenix Lyon ran his fastest 60M so far this season to reach the final.
U15 Lucas Sheehan achieved a PB in claiming his bronze in the 300m.
For the senior women, Shim Amin took gold in a poorly-contested 400m event. Also on the track, Laura Davies ran a season’s best in the U17 60M.
It was a successful outing for the younger women in the triple jump pit. Kamile Bykovaite took silver in the U20 category, while Besirat Tesfu took bronze, and Keisha Juggen-Tull won silver with a PB in the U17s.
After her bronze medal last year, U15 Cameron Thomas returned to won gold this year with a PB in the 800m. Lottie Horton ran a season’s best in the 200m.
