Twelve of our young athletes competed at the County indoor championships at the weekend, and achieved six medals between them. U17 sprinter Phoenix Lyon took gold convincingly in both his events, with a lifetime best of 7.20 in the 60m and an indoor best of 23.1 in the 200m. In the U17M 800m, George Kerry won silver in a time of 2:08.98. For the U17 girls, Cameron Thomas finished second in the 300m with 46.60, while Roisin Lynch won bronze with her 9.14 in the triple jump. Lucy O’Brien was our only representative in the U15 category, but was rewarded with silver in the 800m with 2:28.81.
