London Youth Games (U15) – Crystal Palace – Sun 07 Jul 2019

Team Manager Tim Hannah reports from the London Youth Games:

Medal winners Theo (bronze), Ellis (gold) & Nessi (silver)

ESM juniors were in action winning medals at the London Youth Games track & field finals at Crystal Palace on Sunday. The LYG Athletics are for athletes in school years 7 and 8.

Ellis Kahan-Noel won the gold medal in the javelin with throw of 26.45m. The photo left shows him receiving his medal from Adam Gemili. New girl Nessi Asima won the silver medal in the long jump with a leap of 4.51m. Theo Jarrett completed the medal collection, winning bronze in the 200m in a time of 25.1. The photo below shows him also with Adam Gemili.

Other ESM athletes in action were Tyler Offiah who finished fifth in the high jump (1.35m) and matched his PB in the 100m with 14.0 seconds. George Simpson ran the 800m in 2:29, while Alec Edgar contested the 1500m in 5:27.

Anika McDowell ran the 100m, Katherine Boissiere the 200m and Mia de Vivenot placed sixth in the javelin with a throw of 18.85m.
