London Mini Marathon – Sun 21 Apr 2013

Cool sunny conditions gave perfect conditions for the Young Athletes taking part in the London Mini Marathon on Sunday.

Run over the last three miles of the full Marathon course in Central London the race finished in the Mall in front of huge crowds.

The runners were sent off from the old Billingsgate Market by the starter Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Most successful team were the Under 13 Boys, 7th out of 33 London Boroughs. Hassan Ismael led the team home in 20th place followed by Patrick Owen 32nd, George Kerry 61st, Marcus Browne 79th, Freddie Scarborough 83rd, Bradley Payne 99th and Maateo Vao 136th. All ran well for the team.

Most successful athlete of the day was Sam Shindler-Glass who was 10th in the under 17 men. His team came in 15th with Sam McGonigle 33rd, Zephone Allen 52nd and Louis Marriott 131st.

The Under 15 Girls came in 11th. Courtney Marshall 34th, Erica Wallace 48th, Anna Szyzko 78th, Martha Hayward 81st, Millie Atherton 81st, Jenny Connolly 146th and Abigail Brown 228th.

The Under 17 Women were 14th. Olivia Will coming in 48th, Joanna Vale 78th, Rosie Bell 87th, Emilia Newton Jones 98th, Katrina Will 106th and Evie King 169th.

The Under 13 Girls were also 13th. Nicola Ravenhill leading in the team in 54th place. Feia Starkey came in with Roisin Lynch in 65th & 66th places. Emma Purcell 107th, Maryam Hussein 139th, Cameron Thomas 149th and Shiva Basu 206th.

The U15 boys were 24th. Mukhtar Farah was 50th, Joshua Hewson 80th, Jamie Cox 81st, Reece Farren 152nd and Sam Loveless 153rd.
