Competing at the England Athletics Indoor Championships in Sheffield (10-11 Feb 2024), ESM athlete Leila Newth equalled the under-15 girls all time UK indoor triple jump record. Her third jump of 11m48cm matched Amy Williams’ previous best ever jump to claim gold.
The Championship best leap puts Leila in the UK top 9 ever U15 triple jumps (indoor and outdoor).
Extending her previous personal best of 11m03, the triple jump gold topped off a successful weekend in which she also gained a personal best 9.49 seconds in the 60m hurdles and claimed a silver medal in U15 high jump, clearing 1m57cm, just short of her PB of 1m59.
