Ben Waterman has been selected for the Aviva Great Britain and Northern Ireland team at the IAAF World Junior Championships, in Barcelona, Spain, from 10-15 July. See UKA news 26 June and UKA news 9th July.
This is the World Under 20 championships and he got in via his 1:48.19 performance in Belgium (see Johns post on 2nd June) by far the fastest 800m ever run by an ESM athlete and smashing his own recent club record of 1:51 (see Fionas post on 28 May).
He was third in his heat in the Aviva trials in Birminghams Alexander Stadium (22-24 June), see Aviva Trials 800m heats results and selected along with Sean Malloy (Tonbridge AC) through his fantastic time in Belgium which was reported in Athletics Weekly as the fastest 18 year old.
