Remembering Dilan Khurana

Written by Graham French
ESM young athlete Dilan Khurana was tragically taken from us in March (https://esm.org.uk/dilan-khurana/). As well as being a dedicated club competitor, he was a passionate parkrunner, having completed several junior parkruns and 17 senior parkruns, most of them at Gunnersbury.
We recently decided it would be a meaningful tribute for ESM athletes to take part in the Gunnersbury parkrun in Dilan’s memory. More than 40 ESM athletes, both young and old, turned out to run. Alongside non-running supporters, over 50 members of the ESM community were present. In addition, more than 50 of Dilan’s family and friends joined, creating a remarkable turnout to remember him.

Before the run began, the event organiser gave a touching tribute to Dilan. This was followed by a heartfelt round of applause in honour of a truly special young man. Dilan’s parents, Seema and Vineesh, hope to make the memorial run an annual event at the end of March.
Dilan will live on in our hearts forever.
