It was another had a good turnout of 24 young athletes for the second NWLL fixture at Trent Park, where the weather was unseasonably kind but the going was soft and tricky in places. There were some good team results, the U15 and U17 women finishing second, while the U11 boys were third. The U17 women’s team was boosted by Erica Wallace’s second place, with stalwarts Laura Stewart and Roisin Lynch showing consistency with their last league appearance. Lucy O’Brien led home the U15 squad with a fourth place. The in-form Anisa Ibrahim was next to show, with Cameron Thomas and Maryam Hussain finishing in close succession. Like last time, Fiona Coutts was the only U13 representative but her mid-field position was enough to leave the club eighth on the day in this race. Unfortunately, there were no U11 girls from the club on this occasion. By contrast, the U11 boys’ team finished third, considerably higher than the first match. Finn Combe again finished well up the field, but he had a solid team behind him this time, in the shape of Najiib Hersi, Dan O’Brien, Harvey Williams, Maceo Lamagna, Masaki Kanai and Mohamed Ibrahim. There were only two U13 boys: Matteo Lamagna was again first to finish, backed up by Mahiis Hersi. The Under 15 boys managed fourth, a couple of places higher than the previous match. Kane Foster led them home with a small margin over Naoki Kanai. Jonathan Martin, Sudeys Hersi and Davide Lamagna completed the line-up, all three finishing within a half a minute of each other. The Under 17 men’s scores left them in the middle of the table. Having won the Perivale match, beating both Tom and William McArdle of Trent Park, John Fielding found himself caught between the two this time, five seconds behind Tom. Luke Adar was the only other U17 representative, in 13th.
