The traditional ESM Boxing Day races take place as usual this year for club members and guests. What better way to sweat out/burn off some of the over-indulgences!
Time: Report by 10:30am latest for a 10:45am start.
Place: Pitshanger Park, near the Will to Win cafe. NB: the cafe is not open on Boxing Day.
Course: Two-and-a-half circuits of Pitshanger Park (approx 4.2 miles) for seniors. Junior races of approx 1 mile for Under 11s and approx 1.6 miles for Under 15s. Click here for senior course map, here for U11s course map and here for U15s.
Handicaps: John Falvey will attempt to calculate a handicap in advance for club members in the senior race. If you haven’t been at training recently, it helps if you arrive knowing your best 5K time in the past 3 months.
Awards: There are club trophies for the fastest male and female seniors. There will be Xmas goodies to recognise the handicap winners, and winners of the junior races. NB: If you have any unwanted goodies to donate, please bring them along!
Non-running attendees: If you don’t want to run, but fancy an excuse to get out the house, there will be a warm welcome for anyone who can marshal.
