Ealing Harriers was founded in 1920, marking the beginning of a rich athletics tradition in the borough. Southall AC followed a decade later, forming in 1931. In 1966, the two clubs officially joined forces to become Ealing & Southall AC, combining their talent and resources to build something even stronger.
Meanwhile, Middlesex Ladies AC, established in 1923, was making its own mark on the athletics scene. The club’s achievements and commitment to women’s sport made it one of the most respected female-only athletics clubs in the region. On 1st January 1994, Middlesex Ladies AC merged with Ealing & Southall AC, and the newly unified club became known as Ealing Southall & Middlesex Athletics Club (ESMAC) — the name we proudly carry today.
Throughout its long and evolving history, ESMAC has consistently punched above its weight. The club has enjoyed success across all disciplines of the sport — from Track & Field to Road Racing and Cross Country. Many of our athletes have gone on to achieve Olympic, International, National, and County honours, flying the flag for Ealing and beyond.
As we continue to grow, we remain grounded in our rich history — a club built on dedication and a passion for athletics that spans over a century.
Structure
ESMAC is based at Perivale Park Athletics Track, which is run by Everyone Active. ESMAC works in close partnership with Everyone Active staff to meet the needs of all the athletes who train there. We also maintain links with Ealing Council Sports Team.

Reasons to join
ESMAC members enjoy many benefits. It is a friendly club where new friendships are frequently forged. Members derive enjoyment, satisfaction and increased fitness from their training. It provides an opportunity for everyone to find a discipline to suit their aptitudes, and encourages them to meet their full potential through coaching and competition. For those with talent and dedication, ESMAC is a channel to success at the highest level.
Training sessions
The club welcomes athletes of all ages from 11 years upwards, and organises a range of training sessions to meet different needs. All sessions start at Perivale Park Athletics Track.

Facilities at Perivale Park Athletics Track
In addition to the eight-lane track with its covered spectator stand, there is a fully equipped pavilion which was opened in January 2007 after years of planning, dedication and hard work by Jamie Bath. Drinks and basic snacks are available here on training nights. At home meetings, (see fixtures list for details), a wider range of refreshments are sold. The centre also boasts a general gym, a specialised indoor throws gym, an outdoor fitness circuit and a netball pitch.
